Dear Church Family.

I am hoping to send out an update later about the new church, but we are still awaiting the final confirmation on the certificate of completion. However, we do also want to update you on the churches response to the latest news regarding COVID advice.

In light of the new government guidance to churches following the concerns over the Omicron variant, we are taking steps to allow us to continue to meet in a way that limits the risk of virus transmission. We will continue our Sunday morning worship gatherings, Christmas Eve and Hogmanay services, but we would ask that you follow the guidance below when you attend:

First of all, we are continuing to ask that everyone, unless medically exempt, wear a face mask. Similarly, we will continue to ask that you refrain from singing if you are not wearing a mask. These are both measures currently in place. However, in addition to these, we will also create space for some socially distanced seating, and would recommend that you consider taking a Lateral Flow Test before attending Church events. Some of you may already be doing so for other environments and areas of life. Remember our concern is not just for ourselves, but for one another.

Given that the situation is changing, we may have to revise or adjust decisions so please bear with us. We will communicate any further changes if they arise

We realise this isn't the scenario we had hoped for this Christmas, but it will not stop us from welcoming and worshipping Christ together. Instead, we are reminded by the Apostle Paul to “rejoice always, pray continually, giving thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18).

We look forward to celebrating the coming of Christ the King together and giving thanks for the gift of His Great Love!

Peace and Grace this Christmas,

Pastor Ian
