Given the date today, let me confirm that the following email is ALL ABSOLUTELY TRUE! We're looking forward to April at Trinity with all kinds of exiting news and events taking place.
ALABASTER BOXES & OFFERING: Don't forget to bring your Alabaster Boxes or offering this Sunday. The Alabaster Offering (based on Matthew 26:6-13) goes towards Nazarene building projects around the world, such as hospitals, surgeries, schools, homes and churches. This offering will be in addition to our regular offering, but has such impact all around the world.
FACE COVERINGS: After more than 2 years of COVID restrictions for Churches, from this Monday (4th April), wearing a face covering or mask will no longer be required during worship services. I know many of us have been eager for this day, but we also understand and respect that some may still choose to do so. We do still ask that you wear face coverings for this Sunday (3rd April). Thank you for your patience and cooperation over these last 2 years as we have sought to navigate our way through the guidelines and regulations. It has not been easy, but we have appreciated your understanding through these times.
PRAYER VIGIL: This Wednesday, 6th April, we are hosting the Perth Churches Prayer Vigil for Ukraine - 7pm at Trinity. The first two of these prayer times at Perth Baptist Church have been very special, and we are thankful to host this third one. Please join us on Wednesday as we welcome our brothers and sisters in Christ from across the city. (This will be our first service without face coverings).
EASTER: There are 2 main events for our Easter Weekend...
And finally, SAVE THE DATE...
Our NEW BUILDING DEDICATION WEEKEND will be held on SATURDAY 30th APRIL and SUNDAY 1st MAY! We'll be joined by Rev Jim and Maggie Ritchie (former Pastor and now Nazarene Regional Director for Eurasia Region) and Rev Ruth Turner, Nazarene District Superintendent, as we celebrate, give thanks and dedicate our new building to God. Our celebrations will cover Saturday afternoon and evening, as well as Sunday morning - more details to come over this weekend so watch out for emails and listen out on Sunday!
It's going to be a full April (and not an April Fool), and we are so thankful to God for this new season we're entering. We do not forget the realities of the world around us, we do not neglect the preparation of Lent, but we anticipate the Hope and Victory of the Cross and Empty Tomb as we move towards Easter. Thanks be to God!
Grace and Peace
